AN ethereal atmosphere is set to descend on Maidenhead with two Scottish servings.

Blueflint are a folk foursome who combine layers of legendary highland sounds with Americana and bluegrass to create original, melancholy tunes. Wingin' It are guitarist and Mandolinist Adam Bulley, who performed at Balmoral for The Queen's 80th birthday, and guitarist Chaz Mackenzie, who have joined forces to blend gypsy jazz and folk-pop tracks to Norden Farm.

GIVE your ears a once in a lifetime treat and get down to Woodley Baptist Church to hear from the man hailed as the world's top percussionist.

Alex Acuna, famed for his boundary-stretching sounds as drummer and percussionist in 1970s band Weather Report, will be bringing his jazz-rock tunes to the Hurricane Way venue courtesy of specialist drum shop DrumWright, in Woodley, on Monday. TWO towns will combine their talents for a covers night on Saturday.

Maidenhead and East Berkshire RSPCA's first charity music night will take place at Global Cafe in Reading, with local artists Simon Williams, Phil Morrison, Ella Chambers, Gabby Morrreti and Mike Kirkland performing everything from Brown Eyed Girl to Lady Gaga with all proceeds going to the RSPCA branch.
